TurnItIn for Students: User Guides, Manuals & Tutorials: Forgot your Password

If you have forgotten your password or unable to log into your account, you can set a new password by using the instructions below:

1. Go to www.turnitin.com and click on "Log In" button at the top right.

2. Click on the "Forgot your password? Click here" link.

3. Enter your BUE mail address and then click " Next".

4. Answer your secret question with the answer you entered when you created your account. If you have forgotten the answer to your secret question, click the link Forgot your answer? 

5.A link will be sent to your registered email.  Note: The reset link expires after 24 hours for security purposes.

6.Check a Turnitin message either in the Inbox or Junk folders. You have 24 hours to change your password using that link.

7. Move the Turnitin message to your inbox to be able to reset your password.

1. Go to the Junk folder.
2. Right-click on the message, and then select Move.
3. Select Inbox from the list so it will be moved to that folder.

 8. Open the Turnitin message and click on "here" link to go to the reset password page.

9. On the password reset page, you must enter a new password.

1. Please ensure that you choose a password at least 12 characters long, includes at least one number (0-9), includes upper and lower case letters (a-z, A-Z), includes at least one special character (~!@#$%^&*( )-_+=[ ]{ }\:;'"< >,.?/) and make sure that you do not include blank spaces when creating/changing/resetting your password.

10. Login using your BUE mail and new password.
