TurnItIn for Insturctors: User Guides, Manuals & Tutorials: Create a Turnitin Account

This guide will help you getting started with Turnitin.

Create a Turnitin Account as an Instructor

  1. The instructor should contact the relevant Turnitin coordinator & send the following information (instructor's full name - part time or full time academic member - cell phone number - faculty/department - first time using Turnitin or experienced). For first users, they should take a session by either their Turnitin coordinators or the Turnitin administrator.

  2. The Turnitin coordinator will contact the Turnitin administrator with the information sent from the instructor plus a confirmation statement with either this instructor has a taken a session or he/she is familiar with TurnitinAs for part time academic members, their access will be under a master class created by the relevant Turnitin coordinator or module leader.

  3. The Turnitin administrator will add the instructor's BUE mail to the system & then a Turnitin message will be sent to his/her inbox (either in the Inbox or Junk folders) to enter a new password and complete registration.
  4. Click the Create Password button in the message.

  5. Enter your BUE email address & your last name (as set in your BUE mail username).

  6. Click Next to continue, Turnitin will send you an email with a link to enter your password. (Your password must be between 6 and 12 characters, containing at least one letter and one number).

  7. Login to using your BUE email address and newly created password.

  8. Select a secret question and an answer.

  9. Check next "I'm not a robot" box, then Next.

  10. Click the I Agree -- Continue button to accept Turnitin's user agreement.
