TurnItIn for Insturctors: User Guides, Manuals & Tutorials: Request a Paper Deletion

This guide will help you getting started with Turnitin.

Note

  • Paper Deletions' requests are available only for assignments created upon Turnitin.com
  • If the setting of your assignment has been No repository, you can simply remove the paper from the assignment inbox to remove it permanently.
Once a deletion request is approved, papers will no longer be recoverable.

For papers submitted on elearning, the instructor will then need to email the Turnitin Administrators with the Submission ID.

Requesting a Paper Deletion

  1. From the assignment inbox, locate the paper that you'd like to delete.

  3. Check next to the name of the Author of the paper then select the three-dots menu under the Options column. From the drop-down that appears, select Request permanent deletion.

  5. A notification will appear to read and select continue.
  6. Choose a reason for deletion from the dropdown then select Continue then you are asked to type out the word 'Delete' and finally use the Confirm button to send the request to your Turnitin Administrator.

  8. While your request is pending, you will see a trashcan and clock icon in the assignment inbox beside the Submission ID column of the paper you requested to delete till the Turnitin administrator approve it.
